What is the difference between UVC and Far-UVC?
The UVC spectrum ranges from 200-280nm. Regular germicidal UVC light is typically at 254nm which can be a hazardous to skin and eyes. Far-UVC operates at 222nm, meaning it is capable of destroying pathogens but is unable to penetrate our skin or eyes.
Where is Far-UVC currently used?
Far-UVC technology is most commonly used in military and medical settings, but is quickly becoming prevalent across a wide range of industries including retail, hospitality, transport, dental and manufacturing.
Does Far-UVC kill COVID-19?
Yes, Far-UVC kills COVID-19 and all of its variants. It also destroys all other harmful pathogens including SARS, norovirus, MERS, MRSA, C.difficile, salmonella and influenza.
